In Love With Mill Valley!

Mill Valley is such a darling little town, that I have put it on my list of places I want to live before I die!
I love how it's nestled in the redwoods in Marin County, and all the houses are adorable.
The downtown has the cutest shops.

We stopped there on a beautiful Saturday in March to have lunch and do a little shopping.
The first place we visited was Summer House, a gem of a home furnishings store.

Upon entering, I immediately fell in love with these planters, planted with olive topiaries.
I knew I would be in for a treat.

The first thing I see inside is this burlap pendent, exactly like the one hanging over our kitchen island!

The pine cabinet with painted green interior made my heart skip a beat.
Hmmmm, where could I put this....

The store is an eclectic collection of organic and industrial chic, from these galvanized pendants to the pine credenza and antique print of Paris.

When we were walking out, I noticed this chandelier in the window. Oh my!
I can just look, can't I?

Owned by celebrity chef and Food Network star Tyler Florence, it is filled to the brim with everything I love!
Like this wicker and galvanized serve ware....

.....and this huge collection of hotel silver, plates, bottles and glass.

This is the demonstration kitchen. I wonder if Tyler Florence actually cooks here.

There is a back room filled with cookbooks. When I walked in here, it took my breath away!
I love the leather chesterfield sofa, the boar's head, and black bookcases filled floor to ceiling. I just wanted to sit in here with a cup of tea and peruse through all the wonderful cookbooks.

How wonderful is this little table and chairs!
Tyler Florence also has a beautiful blog filled with his delicious recipes and gorgeous food pictures. Check it out here.

Down the street is Maison Reve, another home furnishing boutique.

This store is owned by Yasmine McGrane, who has been featured in various magazines like Country Home and Better Homes and Gardens.
This leather and mohair French chair is the real deal.
We have the knock offs at our Asti house.

The style here is "urban farmhouse."
There are a lot of linens and pillows in vintage feed sack and French ticking.

What a unique lamp! This linen covered loveseat looks so comfy!

I loved this display of orange trees in cement pots and ceramic dishes on the table.

Now, I just have to convince Mr. A that Mill Valley is the perfect place to live!
He doesn't want to commute to San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge.
I can't think of a better reason to move here!
I can dream, can't I?

Happy Spring!

I'm linking up to Laurie at Bargain Hunting With Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday.
Be sure to visit and see the other participants.
